Since Star Wars first appeared on the big screen in 1977, fans have dreamt of the day they could go to a Cantina and have a drink like Luke and Han Solo. At Star Wars: Galaxy’s edge you can make that dream a reality! Here are some to make your smuggler’s debut at Oga’s Cantina one to remember.
Making a Reservation
Oga’s Cantina is the can’t miss experience of Galaxy Edge and everyone will be trying to get in. That is why we highly suggest you make a reservation by using the Disneyland app or going to the Disneyland website. Walk-ins are sometimes accepted, but to ensure you don’t miss this amazing experience a reservation is your best bet.
If for some reason you cannot make it to your reservation, make sure you cancel it one day prior or change the time. If you do not cancel a day before or if you are a no-show, the credit card linked to your reservation will be charged $10 per person.
Preparing for your Experience
The time has come when you finally get to go to Galaxy’s Edge and experience Oga’s Cantina and hear D.J. Rex play his tunes! Woohoo! You want to check-in with your entire party 15 minutes prior to your reservation in front of the Cantina. You only have 45 minutes in the Cantina, so before you enter use the restroom and take care of any other things you need to so your time in the Cantina is maximized.
Also, be aware that if you have a group of four or less you will share a booth or table with other guests. This is actually really fun because it adds to the overall experience of being in a Catina with characters throughout the galaxy.
Drinks and more Drinks
Oga’s Cantina is fun for the entire family. The menu has loads of options that can satisfy any smuggler! Oga has a selection of drinks that don’t have any alcohol for everyone to enjoy. These non-alcoholic drinks like the Blue Bantha and Carbon Freeze utilize Powerade, lemonade, and even natural juices! For those who want a stronger drink, Oga’s Cantina has a selection of alcoholic drinks including beers and cider. Please note there’s only two alcoholic beverages per guest and they must be consumed within the Cantina.
There are some snack options that include Batuu Bits which is a version of trail mix. If you are hungry, we suggest you grab something more substantial at Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo or Ronto Roasters because we wouldn’t want anyone to get hangry and turn to the dark side… Oga wouldn’t appreciate that.
If you do come to Oga’s Cantina before 10:00 A.M. be aware that the menu is different. However, during this time a few breakfast food items like Mustafarian Lava Roll and Rising Moons Overnight Oats will be available along with coffee.
Oga’s Cantina is a must-see for any Star Wars fan! From the drinks to the shady characters you might encounter, Oag’s is truly something special. If you are able to get into Oga’s Cantina and see D.J. Rex let us know about your experience. What was your favorite drink? Did you meet any smugglers? Also, don’t forget to check out more of our blog posts and YouTube videos to make your trip to Galaxy’s Edge and to the Disney Parks that much more magical!

A visit to Disney’s California Adventure is not complete until you go to Schmoozies! on Hollywood Boulevard and get one of their delicious fruit smoothies. Our favorite smoothie is Mango Madness! This smoothie has mango, banana, peaches, low-fat yogurt blended with pineapple, guava, and passion fruit juices. Schoomizies! has many other fruit smoothies that you can enjoy as well as teas, coffees, seasonal treats such as flavored hot chocolate in the winter.
Doc’s Wild Grape Tonic
If you're looking for a refreshing drink with a little fizz then head on over to the Cozy Cone in Cars Land and get Doc’s Wild Grape Tonic. This specialty drink is grape flavored Sprite with a nice raspberry foam on top. Doc’s Wild Grape Tonic is a perfect way to enjoy a hot afternoon in Radiator Springs.
Sea Salt Caramel Banana Shake
If you’re looking for a drink to really cool you down then head on over to the Pacific Wharf and get a Sea Salt Caramel Banana Shake at Ghirardelli® Soda Fountain and Chocolate Shop. Are you ready to test your knowledge of Disneyland like a true Park Pass Pro? Get ready as we challenge you, your family, and your friends to a Provost Park Pass Challenge!
For this Provost Park Pass Challenge, we want you to locate the top 10 park benches in Disneyland. Disneyland’s benches aren’t just ordinary, they are themed to each land, provide much-needed relaxation, and they may even spark your imagination! When you find one of the benches, take a picture by or on the bench, and post it on Instagram and tag us @provostparkpass. If you complete this challenge and post all 10 pictures of all 10 benches on Instagram, we will feature you on the Provost Park Pass Instagram account and showcase your progress as you complete this challenge. You will also win two Provost Park Pass stickers! Remember, some of these benches are very popular so if someone is sitting on the bench come back later, wait until they are done enjoying the bench, or include them in your picture!
Everyday at Disneyland Old Glory is lowered in a flag ceremony. These benches will give you the best views to the only United States flag in the park with all 50 stars. Put your hand over your heart and you’ll find these benches.
A raft is needed to get to this bench. On an island it stands while booty sits. Pirates’ booty that is! Gold! Treasure! You might have to play pretend like Tom and Huck as you try and find this bench on your daring quest!
Ol’ Brer Rabbit must’ve taken up carving and made benches to look like some of his pals! You can choose a Turtle, Rabbit, Beaver, or Moose. Grab a treat at Pooh Corner, dry off from Splash, and enjoy Amanda’s favorite benches.
Sit back and admire the street that was inspired by Marceline, Missouri. Before you catch the train, catch the view as you sit on these benches. Prime for parades, these are also reserved at times for fireworks.
In between Fantasyland and Frontier, this bench is on a path where few go. It might be hard to find, so just ask Mr. Smythe and Mr. Jones before they perform on the stage where Swing Dancers swing on Saturday nights.
It may be the most coveted bench on Main Street to watch the parades, but husbands used to sit on this bench as their wives tried on lingerie. In Disneyland? How scandalous! Maxwell Brassier Company of Los Angeles closed their doors after only six months of operation and the Wizard of Bras was no more. Yet, this bench stayed and the undergarment legend remained.
This loooooooooooonnnnnnnnggggggggg bench is where the King and Queen use the royal bathrooms. Stretch out your legs and you might even see a White Rabbit hopping by.
Honest Abe never sat on this bench, but he would have enjoyed it. Cool off and stay awhile as you look upon the US Capitol. You better be on your best behavior, you never know when Mr. Lincoln is watching you!
Is that Lava???? From a Volcano??? No…. It’s a bench! Eat a DOLE WHIP® as you wait to hear José, Michael, Fritz, and Pierre serenade you along with their other feathered friends. Tiki gods might even entertain you.
Walt Disney once said, “I only hope that we don't lose sight of one thing - that it was all started by a mouse.” It can also be said that Disneyland was all started by a bench! This bench to be exact! Find this Griffith Park original and you’ll find the bench that Walt himself sat on when he dreamt up the Happiest Place on Earth!
Are you up for the challenge? Don’t forget to post a picture of you at each bench on Instagram and tag us so we can share your Provost Park Pass Challenge journey on our account.

Disneyland is known as the Happiest Place on Earth, and Disney desires anyone who comes to the parks to enjoy themselves. For individuals with disabilities and mobility challenges, attending a theme park could be daunting, but Disney has made it possible for these individuals and their families to experience the magic like everyone else.
Renting a Wheelchair or ECV
Available outside the main gate of Disneyland is the Stroller Shop where you can rent a wheelchair or an ECV (Electronic Convenience Vehicle). These are available for day rentals and can be used throughout Disneyland, Disney’s California Adventure, and Downtown Disney. A deposit will be added to the initial payment for the rental, but if you return the wheelchair or ECV to the Stroller Shop you will have your deposit refunded.
Waiting in Lines
Back in the early days of Disneyland, when they were building attractions they weren’t conscious of making the lines accessible for wheelchairs and other mobility devices. Because of this, many wheelchair and accessible entrances will be through the exit, the FASTPASS line, or a different entrance all together. These rides include many of the Fantasyland dark rides. On the other hand, Disney’s California Adventure was built with accessibility in mind, so all the lines are wheelchair accessible. For more information on specific attractions and where to go, you can get a Guide for Guests with Disabilities Map from Guest Relations.
Getting on the Ride
Many Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure attractions require you to get out of your mobility device, or transfer, to enjoy the ride. However, for these attractions cast members will do their best in assisting you and your party when a transfer is needed. If you worry about holding up the line or attraction because of the time you need to get into the ride vehicle, don’t! The ride will wait for you and you can take whatever time you need to get in or out of the ride vehicle.
There are a handful of rides where you do not need to transfer and you can take your wheelchair or mobility device on the ride with you. To know which attractions will allow you to do this, you look at the Guide for Guests with Disabilities Map.
There are some attractions that are too difficult for some to transfer from their wheelchair or mobility device, so Disney created Observation Decks so everyone can experience these attractions.
Disability Accessible Service Pass
Some guests who visit Disneyland may struggle with waiting in lines. Disney has created the Disability Accessible Service Pass (DAS Pass) that allows you and your party to wait to ride an attraction outside the normal line. For example, if you wish to ride Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, you can go to a guest relations kiosk that are located throughout both parks and ask for a return time. If the current wait time for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is 45 minutes, then the guest relations cast member will give you a return time for 45 minutes later. During this time you can relax, shop, enjoy other attractions, and then after 45 minutes you can go to the Big Thunder Mountain Railroad accessible entrance and enjoy the ride. You can only be given one return time at a time and you the pass is limited to 6 guests.
To see if a DAS Pass is the best choice for you or a member of your party, you can go to City Hall at Disneyland or the Chamber of Commerce at Disney’s California Adventure to speak to a cast member.
shows, parades, and Nighttime SpectaculaRS
Disneyland has many live shows, parades, and nighttime spectaculars that are a must-do when you visit. These different live events have accessible seating areas for guests in wheelchairs and mobility devices and their party. To locate these viewing areas you can ask a cast member or look at the Guide for Guests with Disabilities Map. On select days, ASL interpreters will be at various shows at the parks. You can get a schedule for the ASL accommodations for shows at Guest Relations or on the Disneyland website.
Assisted Listening Devices
If you are hearing impaired or blind, you can get Audio Descriptive device which will provide additional audio descriptions for specific attractions and outdoor locations. This device can also do handheld captioning and assistive listening. These are available to rent at City Hall at Disneyland or the Chamber of Commerce at Disney’s California Adventure. There is a $25 deposit, but that will be refunded to you once you return the device. Braille guidebooks are also available as well as stationary Braille maps.
The Disneyland Resort is a welcoming place for trained service animals. Throughout the parks, Disney has provided relief areas for these service animals. All service animals must be on a leash at all times and cast members are not permitted to take control of service animals. Guests with a service animal will follow the same entrance guidelines for those guests in wheelchairs and mobility devices. When a service animal is not permitted to accompany their party on an attraction, the cast member will inform you of the various options available to you: either a rider switch or a portable kennel.
Walt Disney once said, “To all who come to this happy place; welcome!” Disney strives to live up to this statement everyday by making sure everyone is able to enjoy the magic that is found at the Disneyland Resort. No matter who you are, Disney is for everyone. Disneyland is filled with restaurants, cuisines, and treats that will satisfy any guest’s tastebuds. Yet, for some who have health restrictions, specific diets, or just want to eat healthily, Disneyland can feel daunting. However, Disneyland is filled with healthy options!
Fresh Fruit Carts
Located throughout the both parks, fresh fruit carts with many healthy and tasty options. Apples, bananas, oranges, and even fresh pickles are available to purchase at these carts. It’s a healthier way to get that sugary fix with more natural sugars. Even though these fresh fruit carts are in almost every land, their hours vary depending on location. However, if you want that late-night snack, the fresh fruit carts located in Adventureland and Main Street U.S.A. will be your best option.
Skewers at Bengal Barbecue
Located in Adventureland, Bengal Barbecue has a wide range of skewers that are both healthy and delicious. These skewers can come with beef, pork, chicken, and veggies that will satisfy any taste buds. Even though these skewers are considered a snack, you can always order several and make a meal out of it. To help make this a healthier option, you can ask for the sauce on the side to avoid any extra sugar.
Over at the Royal Street Veranda at New Orleans Square, you can enjoy a vegetarian option when you order their Soup in Sourdough Bread Bowl which is a vegetarian gumbo. The gumbo is a tomato-based soup that has rice, okra, butternut squash, onion, and topped with cajun spices. This is also completely vegan, and you can order it without the bread bowl.
One of the more common healthier options you can get around Disneyland is salads. These salads come in a verity of options depending on what location you’re eating at. What makes salads so accessible is it is easy to pick out things you do not wish to eat. One of our favorites is the Jolly Holiday Salad at the Jolly Holiday Cafe found on Main Street. This salad has mixed greens, spiced pecans, feta, tomatoes, dried cranberries and a raspberry vinaigrette served with a fresh breadstick. If you aren’t interested in breadsticks, you can opt for gluten-free chips.
It’s hard not to come to the parks without trying one of those classic Disneyland treats. Our favorite healthy treat to get is Dole Whip. Dole Whip can be found in Adventureland next to Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room at the Tiki Juice Bar. This classic Disneyland treat is non-dairy and is Pineapple DOLE WHIP® Soft-serve.
Don't be afraid to ask
The Disneyland Resort recognizes that some guests who visit their parks may have restrictive diets or allergies, and this is why Disneyland will bend over backward to accommodate your dietary needs. The best places for a verity of food options will be at sit down restaurants. They will be better able to meet certain accommodations. One side note, these places do frequently require reservations, so we suggest you go online to Disneyland.com or use the Disneyland app before your visit. However, don’t be afraid to ask for accommodations if you're at a quick-service food restaurant. Most of the time they may be able to substitute a food item for another or leave out a specific ingredient.
For example, at Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland, Thumbnail Dave asked if they could substitute chicken instead of fish in their fish tacos. The cast members were able to accommodate Thumbnail Dave and fulfill his request. So next time you’re at Disneyland and have a question or request about a food item, don’t be afraid to ask! Disney wants everyone to enjoy their time at the parks and will do whatever they can to accommodate a need.
When you visit Disneyland, the last thing you should worry about is finding healthy options for food. The Disneyland Resort has a verity of snacks and meals that will satisfy anyone who wants a healthier option. We highlighted just a few of our favorite healthy food hacks, but there are plenty of more options out there. If you find another healthy food item, take a picture and tag us on Instagram! For more tips on making your Disneyland visit more enjoyable check out more posts on this blog, our videos over on YouTube, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram @provostparkpass.
Visiting the Disneyland Resort is one of the most magical experiences you, your family, and friends can have. However, it can be daunting at times to visit whether it’s your first time or five-hundredth time. We have some Disneyland Hacks that will make your visit to the Happiest Place on Earth more convenient, relaxing, and (of course) more magical.
One of the best tools to use while at Disneyland is the Disneyland App. This free app is available to download on most smartphones and tablets. This app has many unique and easy-to-use features that will help make your visit that much more magical.
The app has a map of both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure that will help you navigate throughout the parks. It also lists wait times for attractions and showtimes for stage shows, parades, and nighttime spectaculars.
Another feature of the Disneyland App is your ability to link your tickets and annual passes to your account on the app. This will allow you to use the app to enter the park and use other features such as the MaxPass.
MOBILE ORDERING FOR FOOD
Mobile ordering for most quick-service food locations is done on the Disneyland App. Select the restaurant you wish to eat at, order your food, and select a time when you want to pick up your food. You will be notified when your food is ready, then just look for the “Mobile Order” sign to pick up your food. This will cut down on your wait time when you’re eating so you can enjoy more time in the parks. If you're an annual passholder and have your pass linked to the app, your discount will automatically be deducted on your mobile order
As you are enjoying the Disneyland Resort, you’ll most likely use your cell phone to take pictures, share your experiences on social media, and utilize the fantastic features on the Disneyland App. Chances are your activity on your phone will drain your battery, so we suggest you take advantage of Portable Chargers.
Portable chargers are a small portable battery that you connect to your mobile phone to let them recharge. There’s a one-time payment and once the portable charger is empty you can return it to a charging station to receive a new one, forever! The portable charger comes with many different adapters that will plug into most mobile phones.
Currently, there are several Portable Charging Stations located throughout the Disneyland Resort. You can refer to the park map or the Disneyland App to find a station.
When you visit Disneyland, you might find yourself carrying jackets, backpacks, and not to mention all the different souvenirs you might buy. Instead of carrying everything around with you, we suggest you take advantage of locker rentals. These lockers are available in both Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure, and lockers can also be located outside both parks in the Esplanade. You can either rent a regular or large size locker for the day. However, once the day is over you must go and retrieve your belongings, there are no overnight accommodations for lockers.
The Disney parks are known for their rides and attractions. Whether it’s a classic attraction such as Haunted Mansion or Matterhorn to or one of the newest offerings like Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Break Out, everyone is looking to experience everything Disneyland has to offer. While some attractions can have longer wait times, if you utilize Disney’s FASTPASS system you’re more likely to get on more of your favorite Disneyland attractions.
To get a FASTPASS simply go to the attraction you wish to experience and locate the FASTPASS distribution area for that specific attraction. Once there, simply insert your park tickets to receive a FASTPASS ticket that contains a timestamp with an hour window. Come back anytime during that hour time frame and you’ll be able to experience that attraction quickly.
The Disneyland Resort also offers the MaxPass that allows you to choose your FASTPASS selections on the Disneyland App. Instead of having to go to each attraction to receive a FASTPASS, you are able to make all your selections once you enter the resort on your mobile phone. Unlike FASTPASS, there is a fee of $15 per day per ticket for the MaxPass or $100 for the whole year if you’re an annual passholder (prices subject to change). This small fee to get MaxPass doesn’t only include the ability to select a FASTPASS on your phone, but you also have unlimited access to Disney PhotoPass downloads for the day. These pictures include any photos taken by PhotoPass photographers and pictures taken while you are on selected attractions.
If the attraction you selected on your MaxPass shuts down unexpectedly, you will receive a MultiPass Experience. A MultiPass Experience allows you to experience any other attraction that has a FASTPASS line within the same park as your original selected attraction.
Single Rider Line
Another fantastic way to avoid long lines for your favorite Disneyland attractions is by using the Single Rider line. If you are at an attraction that offers a single rider option, inform a cast member that you wish to ride as a single rider and they will direct you on where to go. This line allows you to skip most of the line and will get on the attraction faster than the stand-by line. However, if you do opt to do single rider, remember that your party will be split up as you enjoy the attraction. This system allows Disney to fill remaining seats in attractions that are unfilled by the stand-by line or the FASTPASS line.
Visiting the Disneyland Resort is a special occasion for the young and young at heart. It’s something you always will remember and something you want to cherish. Disney’s PhotoPass is a way to capture the magic of your visit to Disneyland. Throughout Disneyland and Disney’s California Adventure PhotoPass photographers are there to capture your picture in iconic Disneyland locations and with Disney characters. These photographers will take time to capture the perfect picture that you will cherish for years to come. Once the pictures are taken, the photographer will hand you a PhotoPass card that you link to your Disneyland App. The pictures are then available to purchase or you can start uploading your PhotoPass pictures right away to share with family and friends on your social media if you have the MaxPass.
BEST TIME OF THE DAY
A common question asked is, “What is the best time of day to visit the Disneyland Resort?” Of course, any time of the day at Disneyland will be a magical experience, but if you want to avoid some of the crowds we suggest going to the parks early in the morning or late at night. These times tend to be less crowded with shorter wait times for attractions. Plus, this allows you to go relax at your hotel and take a nap during the afternoon and you avoid peak crowd time.
These are just a few of our top Disneyland Hacks that will hopefully help you make your visit to the Disneyland Resort that much more magical. If you want to learn more hacks and tips, watch some of our Provost Park Pass videos on YouTube or read our other posts on this website. If you use one of our tips or hacks share your experience with us on Instagram or Facebook @provostparkpass.
